Business Challenge
A B2B SaaS Digital Marketing firm was challenged with OPEX expenditures on web site and blog content writing, poor response time from vendors and customer churn.  The opportunity was a perfect mix for Generative AI plus automated health scoring beyond what Salesforce could offer.  The current set of vendors were a mix of BPOs and outsourced writers that deployed a “per piece” pricing model.  With hundreds of customer projects weekly, Surefire Local found themselves constantly battling missed deadlines, poor creative output and numerous invoices to true-up weekly.

The Solution
Over the course of six months, a Generative AI solution was built and deployed to reduce, then eliminate, third party contractors.  Costs for these content writers were initially reduced by 60% in less than 3 months, then cut completely by the end of the project.  The annual savings directly attributable c2b’s effort was over $400K.

With a small team reporting into the Chief Operating Officer

Created a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) on Open AI’s tech stack and API.  What sets the MVP apart from consumer grade tooling is:

  • Purpose-built for high volume content in excess of 500 blogs per month, and over 40+ new web sites delivered in every 30-day period

  • Custom-built text parser for reading in digital text, then building web ready ‘content with context’

  • Standardized, reusable prompts for all Surefire Local vertical industries designed to eliminate hallucinations with optimized temperature guard rails

Substantially increased EBITDA by removing significant subcontractor OPEX in FY2023 and FY2024.

Met all sprint goals and deliverable dates resulting in a faster time to value than what was initially planned.


Outcome

In less than 90 days c2b’s Generative AI solution cut Surefire Local’s contract writer expenses by 60%. By project’s end the company had eliminated all contract writer expenses. The annual savings directly attributable to c2b’s effort was over $400K.
