Client Success Story

“The c2b team was instrumental in migrating our MVP to a stable foundation. We were in a difficult situation and had reached the end of productive discussions with our prior development firm. C2B brought a tiger team approach to the issue, re-platformed the MVP and rapidly had us up and operational in a new environment. I can’t thank Andy enough for his diligent work getting us back on track.”

Business Challenge
FUSE Closings had constructed an innovative MVP that provided Real Estate/Title companies with unique abilities to streamline the often cluttered, paper-based, and time-intensive closing process. The system was built ensuring a functional flow could be demonstrated- but lacked a robust backend architecture, design for resiliency and scaling, and had no technical documentation.

The Solution
c2b was engaged on two different fronts:

  1. Technical/Disaster Recovery Documentation Assessment

  2. MVP Platform Migration

In the first phase, FUSE Closings requested that the c2b team perform an independent review of the existing components and attempt to understand the overall design, and disaster recovery plan. With limited documentation provided by a third-party engineering firm, c2b found this to be a significant challenge. The lead architect on the c2b team was tasked with the onerous task of creating an end-to-end system analysis and data flow representation. The original developer was hesitant, at best, to assist in this activity.

After successfully documenting and creating a system component map, c2b was then asked to migrate the MVP to a more stable, and resilient environment. A key part of this activity was literally, line-by-line source code analysis, re-designing hard coded variables, and choosing new pathways and cloud partners.

Impact

In less than two months, c2b had completed the near impossible. With minimal documentation, and even less human cooperation, the team successfully:

  • Conducted developer interviews and fully analyzed all source code

  • Generated a new system design

  • Created a more robust architecture and documentation set

  • Migrated the MVP and went live in a new environment

At the end of the engagement, FUSE Closings ultimately had mitigated its risk factors and enjoyed a new foundation from which to build, demo and sell from.
